 In Latest News

In what is considered a very special day for Victoria and our community, tomorrow the new Monash Children’s Hospital in Clayton will open its doors to patients.

Patients (babies, children and adolescents) staying in our care on Wednesday 19 April will be relocated to the new Monash Children’s Hospital. This will include patients in wards 41 North and 42 North, Monash Newborn, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Special Care Nursery.

Please note: paediatric emergency services are located within the emergency departments at Monash Medical Centre, Dandenong Hospital and Casey Hospital, and will continue to operate as per usual 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The main reception will close at 8pm. After-hours access to Monash Children’s Hospital and Monash Medical Centre is via the emergency department.

Restricted services
Throughout the duration of the move, our staff’s primary focus will be moving our patients safely into our new hospital. We therefore advise parents that unless your child requires urgent medical attention, to obtain medical treatment or advice from your family doctor on this day.
