Visiting Monash Children’s Hospital (Clayton)
Emergency
The paediatric emergency service is located within the emergency department at Monash Medical Centre, Dandenong Hospital and Casey Hospital, and operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
After hours access
The main reception will close at 8pm. After-hours access to Monash Children’s Hospital and Monash Medical Centre is via the emergency department.
Parking
Patients and visitors can park in the public multideck car park and at the Monash Medical Centre or the Monash Children’s Hospital drop-off on Fregon Road. Please visit the Monash Health website for parking information and fees.
Street parking around the hospital is very limited and is mostly restricted to one or two hours duration. Parking inspectors patrol the area regularly.
A limited number of disabled parking spaces are available for people with disabled parking permits.
There is a new drop-off area for the Monash Children’s Hospital, accessible from Fregon Road (see map below). There is also parking available at the public multideck car park at the Monash Medical Centre.

Public transport
If you are travelling by train, the closest railway station to Monash Children’s Hospital Clayton is Clayton, which is on the Pakenham and Cranbourne lines. The hospital is a five minute walk from the station along Clayton Road.
If you are travelling by bus, bus routes 631, 703 and 733 stop outside of the main entrance of Monash Medical Centre, which is co-located beside Monash Children’s Hospital.
